Band Members:
Jay Williams a.k.a. "Jaswho,"
Jaswho?has a signature sound which URB magazine labeled, "A Funkier Naked Music." With a list of credits to his name, Jay is the mastermind behind some of the top house music tracks hitting the charts today. From deep house to dirty disco and broken beat he brings both his skills as a producer, engineer and his talent as a live musician when he performs. Jay graduated from Full Sail and is currently the Music Director and a Resident Artist at Temple SF, San Francisco's largest nightclub. He is one of the founders of Soulmine Records, a Bay Area indie house label established in 1999. You can find him recording at Moulton Studios as one of the members of 40 Thieves, touring with the bands Spigga and Playground People, and producing artists at Temple Studios SF and Soulmine Studios in Oakland, CA.
Isabel Lozano "Izzy"
Whether she's working the sleek power of her vocals under the moniker Kuuma or weaving introspective, poetic lyrics into melodies for an EP titled Love Does Win, due out later this year, produced with Doug Ellington at The Plant Studios, Lozano is neither constrained by genres, nor daunted by their absence. Isabel has worked with a lengthy list of accomplished producers, including Andy Caldwell, Jaswho Williams, Paul Hemming, Doug Ellington, Tommy "Mr. Next" Garadis, Meikee Magnetic, Raj Lathigara and Rob Easson, Isabel has also landed gigs with sought-after Bay Area musicians, including Caroline Lund and Protection. Her music has been described as "dark and hopeful" and "a cry in the wind" that permeates its conduit, rather than springing forth from her.
The Mixed Up E.P. is the debut release of the new collaboration between Bay Area veteran producer Jay Williams aka "Jaswho?" and Internationally renowned vocalist Isabel Lozano. The highly charged creative energies that flow between J. Williams & Isabel Lozano are instantly apparent on the title track of the E.P. Deep, Synth based Electro Pop is laid down as the foundation for Isabel's seductive voice. The unruly lyrics about life in San Francisco's dance music underground were written by Bay Area lyrist, Eileen Alden and give Isabel's lively vocal style the opportunity to truly shine.
San Francisco DJ/Producer Ben Tom is the featured remix artist on Mixed Up E.P.Recently on Tarantic Records release, Name That Drug, Ben brings his years of production experience & dancefloor sensibilities to the project. In the two additional remixes from J.Williams under his "Jaswho?" artist persona, Williams's uses broken beats and 80's synth modules to add an 80's retro quality to the release. The project also features special remix from Dj Soulspin, one of Temple Music Groups "next generation" of Dance music producers.
Kuuma is Scandinavian slang for "Hot", no doubt that this debut EP will be burning up dance floors around the globe.
