As with most of today's dj's, his natural progression lead him onto remixing and producing dance music. Though only in the beginning stages of his musical carrier, Soulspin has managed to take advantage of his experience and exposure in the Bay Area house music community. Having landed remixes on a number of respected dance music labels, including San Francisco's Temple Music Group, Soulspin found himself working with the likes of Paul Hemming, Jaswho? and Ben Tom on multiple remix EPs scheduled for release in 2010.

As a resident DJ at Temple Nightclub, he is gaining a reputation as one the next generation of San Francisco Dj's. Playing gigs at The End Up, Ruby Skye, The Cardiff and San Francisco's worldwide famous Love Parade, Soulspin has positioned himself perfectly to share the music he loves. Soulspin aka Richard Whitaker, is currently making a name for himself, not only as one of San Francisco Top Djs, but also as an emerging dance music producer & remixer. With the success of his Electrify My Love (Soulspin M.B.C. Remix), which hit the Top 10 on a number of dance music retail sites and was on Top Ten for stompy.com for almost 8 weeks, Soulpsin has taken his carier to the next level. The recent interest in his production has been the catalyst for number of high profile DJ gigs & remix projects that he will be releasing in 2010.

His DJ career started in early 2002, when he landed right in the middle of the San Francisco house scene, after a move from Arizona. Following the move to the Bay Area his primary focus shifted to djing and music production. During these formative years his musical influences range from deep soulful San Francisco house to German tech-house and techno. In addition to producing dance music during this time, Soulspin learned as much he could about the music industry from his time spent at Solid Grooves in San Jose. Over the next 5 years, Soulspin found himself falling in love with the power of music and what it does for the human soul.

A good friend and fellow music producer describes Soulspin's approach to music in the following words, It is simply this, music that touches the soul. Whether it's a 11pm slot he is playing or a 6am slot, the music is a mirror of what has influenced him and what he wants to share with his audience."
